Workshop Training.

Participatory workshop Systems.

Most workshops focus on the expert presenting information to the participants. Many OGCA workshops are facilitated by members with the support of experts.

we recognise that there are information gaps which are bridged by experience and while growers walk away with useful information they also express knowledge based on life experiences.

Everyone learns in different ways so tailoring how information and new skills are shared is as important as workshop content.
Working with our community
On a small island like Barbados a community is any group of people that comes together with a common bond. The OGCA works within these communities, which includes the differently abled, school children, youth, the elderly, families and organisations. The common bond is that everyone wants clean nutritious, affordable food.

We dont just try to provide the food, we try to facilitate our communities to grow the food themselves, through workshops and practical training. Even helping to set up micro business' that people can turn into whatever they want.
Training as a membership requirement

Over the years the OGCA has used several formats for training interested persons. Back in 1998- 2001 we conducted training using a CD Rom programme, we then switched to the more low tech, classroom type methods and of course a series of practical on farm training modules were accomplished in 2005-2006.
We intend to bring out a video training manual this year 2016
