RECENT INITIATIVES
Permaculture design has become a cornerstone in the development of many organic farms in Barbados.
In 2014, with the support and facilitation of Island Development, a local mining company., the executives of Terra Genesis International were bought to the island to train several organic growers in these growing concepts.
Terra Genesis International is one of the Worlds leading permaculture designers and trainers and are currently contracted to design and deliver a sand quarry regeneration.
Permaculture Design
Training in new methods of designing a farm to make better use of slopes, water catchments and even community outreach has been embraced by a number of OGCA members. The first to be trained were in 2014 with several been trained by the Caribbean Permaculture Research Institute.

The 10 day intensive training program ends with each participant recommending and defending their own design for a midsize farm and home.
