Background and history of the farm

 

Melvin fell in love with farming at a very young age, seeing his mother working on the backyard garden. He started to work with John Hunte on different projects in 1993, mainly educational ones, linking schools with gardens. After a visit to Wales where he found his inspiration for organic farming, he started his own production on the ¼ land around his home

watermelon, okra, pumpkin, banana, cherries, starfruit, mango, coconut, soursop, sugar apple, moringa

 

 

Where can you find his products

 

He mainly has his own clientele but sometimes sells his surplus with Ras Mike at Cheapside

Special practices

 

He tries to experiment different fertilization techniques, such as the use of ash on certain crops, to see a resulting difference in yield
